Taw Valley Organics is a certified organic plant nursery near Barnstaple, North Devon, specialising in herbaceous perennials.

 

We are passionate about sustainable horticulture, growing and supplying high quality plants using peat free compost and organic growing methods. We have a varied plant selection including herbaceous perennials, herbs, shrubs, climbers and trees.​

We hold full organic certification with Soil Association (license no. AB27800).

Come and explore the gardens, see where our plants are grown, get expert advice on choosing the right plants for your garden. Enjoy a walk through the meadows and orchard and enjoy organic tea and coffee beside the pond. ​

Please note that plant order collections from the nursery are by appointment only.

We also offer a local delivery service dependant upon location and courier delivery nationwide.

Our plants

About

We are a small family run nursery in North Devon. Taw Valley Organics is one of only a few certified organic plant nurseries in the UK. We are passionate about growing in harmony with nature and celebrate the wildlife we share the nursery site with. We have established wildflower meadows, which are alive with pollinators, birds and mammals. Multiple ponds teeming with life, from frogs and dragonflies to a variety of wild birds. We look forward to sharing the space with you at our seasonal open days.

Opening Times: 

The Nursery and gardens are open to visitors on Saturdays 10-3pm from Spring till Autumn.

Visiting Us
Our site is located just outside of Barnstaple near Tawstock, there are signs directing from the various crossroads. The nursery is also pinned on google maps. 

Coming from Bideford + Barnstaple (Roundswell) - We recommend taking the Torrington road from Roundswell roundabout, continue to prospect corner just before Newton Tracey taking the left turn for Collabear, continue on this road to fire beacon cross, from the there the nursery will be sign posted. (This is an easier driving route, through Uppacott rather than through Tawstock village). 

Coming from Barnstaple (Newport) - We recommend travelling through Bishops Tawton, continue to Newbridge after the bridge take the second right, signed Harepie and Newon Tracey. Continue on to Fire Beacon cross, from there the nursery will be signed. (This is an easier driving route, through Uppacott rather than through Tawstock village). 

Coming from Torrington - After Newton Tracey take the right turn at Prospect Corner signed Collabear, or right next right before St Johns Chapel. Continue on to Fire Beacon cross, from there the nursery will be signed. (This is an easier driving route, through Uppacott rather than through Tawstock village).
